Earth day means a lot to us here at Happily in Progress. We are all not only passionate about being physically, mentally, and emotionally in progress, but also about helping our world become a little better day by day. What better way to shout our passion about this beautiful planet and all the beauty that inhabits it, all the beauty still waiting to be explored, and all the beauty desperate to be saved, than to celebrate this day!
There are many ways to honor Earth Day, and @travelandleisure (original article HERE) inspired us to put our own spin on a list of ways to celebrate #earthday from home!!
Here is our take based on their list:
1. Take a walk outside, making time to appreciate nature.
2. Shop sustainable brands online (check out @noondaycollection @eileenfisherny @reformation OR check out @thegoodtrade for more ideas!!)
3. Go on a virtual field trip or learn more about our earth (@novaeducation or @discovery_education or @nasa)
4. If it isn’t cloudy were you are, go out & do some star gazing tonight!
5. Make a plan for more intentional recycling as a family.
6. Make plans to plant a garden or enjoy time working in the yard.
7. Create some earth day art using recycled materials at home. (Need some ideas? Check out this article by EarthDay.org.
8. Do a #builderschallenge at home with recycled materials. HERE is a collection of Pinterest ideas to get you started!
9. Pick up trash around your neighborhood (with appropriate social distancing rules in place)
10. Take a minute to learn about the power of plants for all areas of your life (Check out @bewellawithnella @naturalitichealth @plantycures or @herbsovermeds for starters!)
